The Injury Clinic 12,600m Handicap

The Injury Clinic 12,600m Handicap winner Kurt Jungling

Perfect weather welcomed the 74 starters in the Injury Clinic 12.6 km handicap held at Wurdiboluc Reservoir. It was a marked contrast to last season’s event at the same venue. It was backmarker, Kurt Jungling, who was able to take the lead inside the last kilometre to win comfortably from Geoff Anset by 80 metres with Susan Andrews a similar distance away third.  For Jungling, it was sweet revenge for last year’s event at the same venue when he finished second last. Kate Bramley continued her stellar form to easily be the fastest female whilst former club champion, Ron Thomas, was the fastest male by over a minute. A pink cupcake morning tea organised by Bonnie Szymczak in memory of Jo Foran was well patronised and raised valuable funds for Sanctuary Counselling Centre.
