Dawnbuster Fun Run report

A field of 242 keen athletes and fun runners defied the New Year’s Eve forecast heat to participate in the 29th running of the Dawnbuster along Geelong’s beachfront. Rising early to make the 7 a.m. start time didn’t dampen their enthusiasm.

A bunch of four athletes scorched along towards Rippleside at a frenetic pace and they were still together returning past the Carousel. It took Peter Kerr a long time to break free to record his fifth win in the event in a time of 15 minutes 37 seconds. He had also been successful in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018. The first female was Maddie Orr..

The event was organised by Geelong Cross Country Club with close to $4 500 being raised for Give Where You Live.
