Successful Dawnbuster Fun Run

Dawnbuster Fun Run 2021. all funds raised go to Give Where You Live

Sunday 31st December

A  perfect New Year’s Eve morning saw a bumper field of 407 turn out for the thirty-second running of the 5 km Dawnbuster organised by the Geelong Cross Country Club. The total profit of around $6 800 goes to Geelong’s Give Where You Live, to continue their work for a fairer community in Geelong and our region.

The new course which started and finished at Steampacket Gardens was mainly off-road with two short steep inclines to negotiate. Isaac Hockey was a runaway overall winner whilst Maddie Kerr was the winning female. Many competitors went away with one of the numerous spot prizes thanks to the generous sponsors..

Thanks to the numerous club members who marshalled, manned the drink station and took the morning entries. And a huge thankyou to Jo and Meg from Give Where You Live.

Section winners and their times are listed below.

See you again on Dec 31st 2024 for the 33rd running of Dawnbuster.

Our next event is the Geelong Half Marathon and 5 Km Run, on April 7th. See the website for details.
