🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♂️This Sunday’s race is the Triathlon Adventures Geelong – Canoe Club 5km Sealed

Date: Sunday May 11 2025

Start Time: 9am
Entries Close: 8:30am

This is one of the four sealed series races, where all runners start at the same time. Read more about the sealed handicap series here: gccc.au/about/types-of-events/
To qualify for the overall prize pool, you need to have completed 3 of the 4 sealed events.

Start and finish location is close to Balyang Sanctuary. Barwon River path near the intersection of Riversdale Rd. and Bridge St. 300m East of the Canoe Club.

Remember the usual things:

-Numbers must be worn front and back or you risk being disqualified from prizemoney and championship points.
-Bring your own drink container (we will have water)
-Entries close at 8:30am. All the helpers need a decent warm up.
-Don't forget your new timing chip.

Geelong Cross Country Club - Intersport DeGrandi 8km Handicap Results

A field of 70 turned out for the running of the Intersport DeGrandi 8 km handicap at Teesdale on Sunday.

The race started in cool, calm conditions but by the time the backmarkers set off the wind had sprung up and with the temperature rising quickly together with the testing terrain, it was a tough battle.

It was second year runner, Shane Goodall who held sway by 130 metres from scratchman Hamish Renkin with Susan Andrews 30 metres back in third.

A week earlier, Goodall had run his first marathon in just over 3 hours in Ballarat.

Alana Plyman and Renkin were both fastest of their gender by two minutes.
