Geelong half marathon

By runners, for runners

Event Details

The 2025 Geelong Half Marathon is on Sunday 6th April, 2025.

The annual Geelong Half Marathon takes place on a fast, scenic course around the beautiful Barwon River in Geelong.  Our 5 km Run is ideal for those looking for a shorter challenge.

We cap entry numbers to limit congestion for parking, at toilets and drink stations, and on the course.

We pride ourselves on running a relatively simple, friendly and affordable event over a great course.

As well as being the Geelong Cross Country Club’s annual fundraiser, your entry fees directly support Geelong’s University Hospital, particularly the Andrew Love Cancer Centre.

  • Geelong Half Marathon 21.1 km
  • 5 km Run

The Geelong Half Marathon is run along the beautiful Barwon River, from Belmont, to Breakwater and then up to Fyansford and back to Belmont. View the Half Marathon course map.

The 5 km runners cover the first 2 km of the Half Marathon course and then proceed upstream beside the Barwon River before turning back and running downstream and through to the finish line. View the 5 km Run course map.

The Geelong Half Marathon and the 5 km Run both start and finish near the Belmont Park Pavilion, 162 Barrabool Road (under the James Harrison Bridge, on the south side of Barwon River, in Belmont, Geelong).
