Ideal running conditions greeted the 85 starters in the Profeet Podiatry 6.5 km handicap at Belmont Park. It was Murray Long who was able to run down Robyn Little in the closing stages to win by 30 metres with Ray Meesen a further 60 metres astern. Long, now in his third season with the club, didn’t face the starter once in his first season due to injury but has been a regular at Twilight Trot and Park Run since and has improved with the competitive racing. Rachael Thompson was easily the fastest female whilst Dan Wright beat Daryl Burns by 20 seconds to be the fastest male.
